FitChick Chatter on LOVE, Life and the Pursuit of Happiness

I spend a lot of time with women. We sweat, we chat about our kids, we motivate each other about fitness, and we get excited about our plans for the weekend. There’s nothing earth shattering or ground breaking about any of this. What’s is mind blowing, however, and the reason I thoroughly LOVE doing what I do is this: If you ultimately GIVE of yourself and show that you are vulnerable, you often get the same in return. Women connect with other women because we are all inherently the same. We all want to give and receive love, we simply need a forum, a safe place and a safe person or if you’re lucky enough, people of whom to share.

LOVE comes in all different forms, and I truly love all the women I get to spend my days with. Thank you all for being so strong, so amazing for trusting me and giving me so much.

I have come across some people in work and in life who simply were unable to let their guard down. To believe that someone is just kind and giving is a difficult concept for some to grasp. Be compassionate toward those individuals. They may have been hurt a little more then you. For the ones who have been cut the deepest, sometimes need the most love and compassion of all.

If you do anything in this life, this month, this week or today… do it with love. The genuine reactions and gratitude of others will be your hearts reward.

FitChick Chatter on Hitting the reset button

Mondays are fabulous. As jarring as that may sound because I love my weekends just as much as the next person, Mondays are an excellent starting point to restart after any damage you did to your body over the weekend. You get to hit the restart button. Fitchick is a lifestyle that encompasses real life living. You can’t be good 100% of the time. We encourage you to cheat every once in a while, have a crazy weekend, take a vacation and don’t worry about the calories… Eat the gosh darn taco! But on Monday we get back into the groove of eating well and taking care of ourselves. Don’t beat yourself up about it. Just enjoy it, live in the moment, make memories and take pictures. You are supposed to love your life and live it to the fullest. After all, you designed it.

Sometimes our reset/ restart Monday isn’t as soon as we would like it to be. Life happens. Injuries, personal issues, schedule and so on. But the best part of having self-love isn’t selfish. Its being selfless but to yourself. Love yourself enough to make time for you. Personally, I think Johnny Depp says it best “Keep moving forward and don’t give a shit about what anybody else thinks. Do what you have to do for you”. Fitness is the worthiest of investments and Monday is the perfect time to get up, move your ass and make a deposit.

FitChick chatter on self-love and lifestyle standards

Our goal at FitChick is to provide the everyday woman the proper tools to love themselves fully every day. We believe this is a unique opportunity to truly value the mind body to realize one's fullest potential. Through that realization we thoroughly believe each individual will see just how beautiful they are, and worthy of the love they deserve. We believe that starts from deep within. Many misconceptions are formed early on about what exactly it means to be a healthy and vibrant woman. Sometimes all we need is realignment in the way we think, moving our minds in the right direction and not fixed on another perception. Healthy is a way of life, a type of living. We at FitChick know that food is fuel, not the enemy. We aim to feed the muscle not the fat. Eating properly for your body, everyday, ensures that your mind, body and soul will be operating at full capacity. To truly love yourself is to take care of yourself, it is not selfish. It is an act of love, self-love. Exercise is another from of loving your body and not resenting it. The truth is, every little bit counts and the more you move the healthier you'll be. If you aren't where you want to be today, then start today. The good news is that you don't have to change everything at the same time. In fact, the trick to becoming healthier is making daily small changes, until you can look back and see the progress you've made. Its not about how far you have to get to your goals, but how far you've come. What better way to connect to your body then to feel amazing and look fabulous doing it. Healthy is a way of life.

Exercise can improve your mental health too!

It’s well known that physical exercise is not only good for the body, but also the mind.  Improved self-esteem is a key psychological benefit of regular physical activity. When you exercise, your body releases chemicals called endorphins.  These endorphins interact with the receptors in your brain that reduce your perception of pain.
